In the early 80s, Velore was a famous New York graffiti artist named AW24. He was also known for being a member of the group Velore & Double-O (previously known under the name Ebony Dukes), a duo formed with his partner Todd "Double-O" Carter RIP (a.k.a DJ Kato the brother of Grandmaster Dee). They are considered as NY hip-hop pioneers and the first hip-hop group signed to Virgin Records in 1986.
