D.O.D. feat The Situation - Price Of Fame - 1997

12" - 1997 - Price Of Fame Records

Here is another interesting rare indie wax released in 1997 by cats from Philly who weren't really rappers originally, all members of a group named D.O.D. (Do.Or.Die.) hailing from North Philly and comprised of Mally The Kid, Onassis (RIP), Don and Sojourner (RIP). Don & Sojourner formed the duo named The Situation.

The 12" came out on Price Of Fame Records, a record label managed by MLADIN. It contains the tracks "Price Of Fame" and "Patriot Games" produced by Deuce, and the tracks "Interlude" and "Front Liners" produced by LE Square of the legendary Philly-based crew 100X. The A-side contains all the radio versions and the B-side contains all the street versions. The tracks were also released on tape and CD format at the time.

There is a real story behind this group but I won't talk about it here now by respect for all the families ... but maybe in another episode when I'm allowed to.
