High Side Infantry - High Chant / Contact - 1995

12" - 1995 - High Side Records

Here is another very hard to find 12" released in 1995 by the Brooklyn-based crew High Side Infantry. The wax is composed of the tracks "High Chant" on the A-side and "Contact" on the B-side, both produced by Moose and co-produced by Sin Deep.

No informations about this group on the internet, so let me bring you some ... High Side Infantry was a crew from Park Slope, Brooklyn which was consisted of 4 MCs named Sin Deep, Excell, Rags, B-Y, and 1 Producer named Mike Moose. Everything began for the group in the early 90s with Sin Deep and Excell who ran together. Rags and B-Y who also lived in the same neighborhood were added, and in the late '93, Moose was introduced to them through a mutual friend called Wor Whosane.

High Side Infantry had other members affiliated like Strange, Blunt, Lochness from Splattahouse, Draz & Ced (RIP) from Mega Vibes, Wor Whosane, the legendary PH a.k.a Pumpkinhead (RIP) and War Bixby from The Speedknotz who also appears on the track "Contact".

Unfortunately there isn't another wax dropped by this crew after that one because High Side Infantry had no management and couldn't get deal that wasn't a ripoff. From what I know, they had other 8 songs recorded but they lost the dats and reels ...

Yaggfu Front - Action Packed Adventure! - 2024

2xLP + 7" - 90's Tapes / HHV - 2024

" In the midst of North Carolina's Tobacco Road and ACC basketball flowed an eloquent and bizarre Hip Hop juggernaut known as Yaggfu Front. The genuinely warped minds of D'ranged & Damaged, Jingle Bel and Spin 4th fused to form this acronym, a simple edict declaring "You're Gonna Get F***** Up If You Front". The 1993 debut album "Action Packed Adventure!" runs deep in lyrics and thick in production. Some of the lyrics are well within the ballpark of MC comprehension, while some transcend left field for the parking lot and on out to the f*#@ing highway. Beat fiends will incredulously shake their heads as the production crackles like that of crate PHD's Diamond and Pete Rock. " courtesy of 90's Tapes

Available in a limited run on 2LP+7" (300 copies), CD in jewel case (300 copies) & cassette (100 copies).

2xLP + 7" - 90's Tapes / HHV - 2024

" 'Beyond Flavor' is the sophomore album by Original Flavor, the group then consisting of Ski, T-Strong and DJ Chubby Chubb. Lyrical animation over Jazz-infused beats is the formula with an overall New York vibe. Guests include young cats such as Jay-Z, Sauce Money and Dame Dash." - courtesy of 90's Tapes

Available in a limited run on 2LP+7" (300 copies), CD in jewel case (300 copies) & cassette (100 copies).

Mark Sparks Presents Kakalaka Raw! - 1996

12" - 1996 - Kakalaka Music

Mark Sparks Presents Kakalaka Raw is a 12" released in 1996 on Kakalaka Music. This 12" contains the track "Kakalaka Raw!"(Main, Instrumental & Remix) performed by the SOHO crew and Puerto Rock on the A-side, and the track "Game Mobbers" performed by Puerto Rock on the B-side.

Soho crew (a.k.a Southern Hospitality) was comprised of D-Mack & Dizzy Dee. They started music in College around 1987 when they were at the North Carolina State University. A third member was also in the group at that time... the legendary Omniscence who decided to leave the group for a solo career and released his "The Funky Oneliner" EP in 1993.

D-Mack & Dizzy Dee hooked up with the producer Mark Sparks in Charlotte, NC. He produced their first single "Shortie" in 1993 which was released on Jet Enterprises Inc. Soho Crew were back 3 years later with "Kakalaka Raw!" featuring Puerto Rock, a solo artist from New York who moved to Charlotte, NC. The single "Kakalaka Raw!" will be included in the dope "Kakalaka Raw" compilation album released on CD the same year and which was reissued on vinyl in 2016 by Crooked Cat Records.

This 12" has been recently for sale twice on ebay, so nothing is lost if you're looking for it. Peace
