Open Eye Productions - A.T.M. - The Big Picture (Unreleased Demo)

 Patrock (of Heavy Jewelz Records) is back with some brand new unreleased demos from a group called A.T.M., an acronym for Addicted To Money, from Norfolk, VA. 

Patrock : "Here we have a solid demo tape from A.T.M. (Addicted To Money) outta Norfolk, VA, produced by Open Eye Productions. This demo contains 6 tracks, but unfortunately, no track titles or release year are mentioned. Based on the sound, the music was likely recorded between '96 and '98. I think the group consists of two guys and a lady, and they are spittin' some thug shit. It's really dope! I have zero information about them, but I can hear the names “Big Cheese“, “KP“ and “Ces“ or “Chedda“. If you have more info, please let me know. Also, if one of the group members or the producer sees this, please get in touch with me!"

AllSum 4Sum - Pressure - 1996

 

Very good news from Patrock (of Heavy Jewelz Records), who recently announced that he would be posting previously unknown joints every Sunday. I had already posted his unreleased demo from the group A Chosen Few a few days ago, dating back to 1997. Here's the next one : AllSum 4Sum - Pressure - 1996 

Patrock : "This track is from the Rawkus Urban Sampler from 1996. It's a very rare promo cassette from the early days of this legendary label. All the other tracks from this tape were released on Rawkus Records, but this one seems to be an unreleased exclusive. I don't have much info about the group “AllSum 4Sum“, except that there are 5 MCs and they are apparently from Brownsville and affiliated with the group “7 Universal“. They belong to the "Population Clique" (Wu-Tang Clan affiliated collective). Who got more info?"

Punk Barbarians - Rest in Peace Original Version - 1993

Three years before the release of their debut album, the group Punk Barbarians appeared on the Vibes & Vapors Show on the Princeton University's student-run community radio station 103.3 WPRB. Their song "Rest in Peace" was aired in its original version, which differs from the version released on the album. Here it is if you don't know it yet ! 

Saukrates - Father Time LP - 1995

In 1995, the Canadian magazine Elements published an interview with legendary Toronto-based rapper Saukrates. Joined by his manager Chase Lover, he discussed the upcoming release of his debut album "Father Time", produced by Clark Kent, Buckwild and No I.D.

For reasons that remain unclear... though most likely related to label issues... the album was never released, a significant loss given the expectations surrounding it. Saukrates released his first single "Still Caught Up", in 1994 at the age of 17, followed a year later by "Hate Runs Deep", featuring his friend Marvel. Father Time LP was originally scheduled for release that same year. It's definitely something that I'd like to see coming out on vinyl nowadays. Here are a few tracks from the original Father Time demo tape... Enjoy!

Big Chase - Rare & Unreleased

Big Chase's demos are now available with the help of Calvin "Trouble" Jones and 16F Music. If you don't remember the blog article I did 2 years ago about Big Chase, here is a quick recap about his story:

Big Chase (also known as Chase G.O.D.) is an American Rapper / Producer from Brooklyn New York who grow up in Marcy Projects who first became active as a dancer in the late 1980 through the 1990’s for fellow Brooklyn rapper Jaz-O (formerly The Jaz and Big Jazz) & Jay-Z. Before recording his own music with Brooklyn producer Calvin Trouble Jones (also known as DJ Trouble Lee) from the early to mid 1990 then later he teamed up with 2 other Brooklyn rappers and recorded a few demo uner the name Darker Image. In 1996 Big Jaz single "Waitin" he was credited as co-producer - Chase G.O.D. but much of his early rap was never released until now.
