If you don't know this female emcee, you need to know that she was born and raised in West London,UK and was a member of the London Allstars with MCs like Funky DL, Big Kwam, Lewis Parker, Roots Manuva & Blak Twang. To make a quick recap, around 1996 she released a first 4-track EP entitled "Running Wild" and she recorded the classic "Mama's On Crack" produced by Tha 4orce, and in 1998 she was a MOBO Award Winner (Best hip hop act 98).

 I'm not really sure when this limited 12" was dropped by Phoebe One. The wax consists of the tracks "Personal", and "To All The Hip Hop Heads" which is the lead single and my favorite track. The 12" is really cheap and really easy to find...

Sherlock - Sherlock EP - 1996

I was in London this week so I took a moment of my time to visit Cosmos Records London shop based in East London, 324d Hackney Road precisely. If you're looking for Jazz, Funk or Soul records, this place is for you... they 've got a massive collection with lots of good stuff including Japanese pressing editions. The Hip-Hop section isn't really big but you can dig some rare wax, like the 12"  I found ... a sealed copy of the 4-Track EP released by Sherlock on Rooftop Records in 1996.

For those who aren't familiar with this group, Sherlock was a Swedish Hip-Hop group, active between 1995 and 1997. In addition to a handful of singles, they released the album "Made To Measure" in 1997. The original group members were Infrared, Pee Wee, Speedknock and Seb Roc. Shortly before the album's recording, Infrared left the group and was replaced by Rusiak.

Lords of Rap - 4 Sides Of A Coin - 1993

Back to the 90s with Lords Of Rap , a South East London crew (Battersea) composed of MC Reu, Def G, Xtreme & GLK.

In 1993 came out their promo tape "4 Sides Of A Coin", made of 25 tracks of pure english Hip-Hop flavor, which could be considered as one of the best UK Hip-Hop album. Unfortunately the album has never seen the light of day officially.
