Erule - Forever Living - 1996

Big thanks to 12manrambo for sharing this exclusive archive from his vault featuring LA-based emcee Erule. Originally aired on The Joint in 1996, the show was broadcast on KKBT 92.3 FM The Beat (Los Angeles) and hosted by Mike Nardone & King Emz. 

The recording includes an interview, a freestyle and a spin of the track "Forever Living", which wasn't intended to be Erule's official single from his forthcoming album, but rather a DJ-exclusive sneak preview. Only a few vinyl copies were pressed on a white label. 

In the interview, he explains his relationship with Pallas Records and why he and King Born decided to launch their own record label, Relentless Recordings. Enjoy!

It took roughly a year between the Cella Dwellas' first radio appearance on the Stretch & Bobbito Show on October 14, 1993 and the release in 1994 of their debut single "Land of the Lost" produced by Lord Digga. I don't know if you have already had the chance to listen to their '93 Interview & Freestyle session with Lord Digga, recorded while "Land Of The Lost" was still cooking, so here it is especially for you fellas. Crown Jewels & Godfather Don - ’97 Stretch & Bobbito Freestyle - WKCR

Here is a freestyle session aired on March 27th 1997 on WKCR. The guests that night were the legendary Godfather Don, and Crown Jewels a duo consisted of Abdul & Mike L from Flatbush. The first 17 minutes consist of the Freestyle (Godfather Don starts at 6:20) and the last 11 minutes are Godfather Don talking with Stretch & Bob.

"This show we interviewed Big L R.I.P. and The Cella Dwellas! We started the show with Riz on the 1's and 2's! I'm on the air getting ready to interview Big L who was waiting to go on the air!! Tyesh Harris from Columbia Records was at the station that night with Big L to promote his hot joint "Put It On" f. Kid Capri! I'm on the mic letting the listeners know that Biggie Smalls was here!! You can hear Tyesh and B Wise saying "it's Big L"! I corrected the mistake and then interviewed Big L! Big L was cool about waiting for the interview and the problem with the mic while he was freestyling! He was able to do a short freestyle and was professional about everything! The Cella Dwellas came on next and they mentioned that they knew Riz from playing High School football in Brooklyn! They also played against Masta Ace and so did Riz!! Riz was a star player from Canarsie and went to play football at Hofstra U. We had a good time doing our Jerky Boys impressions and bugging out!!" - WildMan Steve

Time Travel Radio was on the air on WNUR 89.3 Evanston-Chicago from 4-20-1995 until August 2002. It was created, hosted, and produced by Kevin Beacham. Throughout the years the show had several different co-hosts, DJs, interns, and other key supporting members. This is a collection of some of the many freestyles that took place between 1995 and 1996.
