Different Shades of Black - Next School Pionners LP - 2017

Different Shades of Black from Winnipeg, Canada consisted of Chris Taylor (Mista Christy aka Chris Stylez), Leonard Bowen (Scuskotch Tha Ill Lyrasis), Michael Syms (Marvelous aka Mike Marvel). 

The album "Next School Pioneer" produced by Rod Bailey a.k.a Mcenroe was originally released on tape in 1995 on his own label Peanuts & Corn Records. 

"When mcenroe produced the first Different Shades of Black album, he crafted it to resemble a Black Moon record; really filtered bass and dark beats. Black Moon’s Enta Da Stage was a huge influence." said DJ Hunnicutt a.k.a Tyler Sneesby in a Stylus Magazine Interview.

The album has been reissued on tape by Roots Forward Records in 2016 and the wax will see the light of day soon on the same label.
