  1. I bought the CD and bought the "Flip Da Scrip" Single after seeing it for a few weeks in a row on YO! MTV Raps on the weekend show i believe. I Thought "Flip Da Scrip was" sick with that piano sample they used. Liked it so much i bought the CD and I really liked that album. I thought it was super under rated and couldn't figure out why it wasn't gaining any traction. Just the way it goes sometimes, it's a damn shame. I bought the "Flip Da Scrip" single too and much to my surprise DJ PREMIER did the Remix which was fire as well. Turns out hip hop heads are finding out about this early mid 90's group and they even had a re issue. I buy all Vinyl these days bc it's is just cool, Big ass Artwork, Vinyl Sound is superior so they say but nothing beats a FLAC or a WAV File but still digital can never be as cool as a hard copy, especially some BIG VINYL. Anyways, the Reissue comes with a 7'' with the Remixes. It's a special edition. I bet that album sold a minimum of 100,000 copies but likely it sold around 200,00. Only 1% of artists sell over a 100,000 copies and this was before Napster and online MP3 File sharing. I wish there was a site that told you how many albums an artist sold besisides RIAA Gold & Platinum. You don't know how many albums sold until they sell 500,000 on that site. Regardless, Da King & I was looked at as a flop but that album is solid and has nice handful of bangers and at just 200,000 Copies sold i bet it still made the record company a Million$$$. It's been over 30 years since the release so don't sleep anymore. It's crazy how all these young people in their teens and 20's are going back to the 90's whether it be for rock and now even rap and listening to how original music use to be. Everybody was different and had their own style. I see tons of guys in their 20's listening to 90's Golden Era Hip Hop and giving reactions and they love the music! What a decade the 90's was. The last great decade on the United States, It was amazing and groups like Da King & I were so common place that a group like that with an amazing album full of bangers got swept under the rug bc there was 30 More albums out at the same time. Anyways, i'm just rambling here but Da King & I was a sick album and glad people are discovering a sick hidden, super underground gem like that. So much so that they actually did a Reissue of the album. Do you know what it takes to do a reissue?!?! They don't just reissue everything that ever came out. Something popped and sparked and i'm telling you 90's music is popping with the younger generations.
