12" - 1997 - ALL & ALL Entertainment

Back in 1997 with a wax released by No False Lyricists, a group formed by Dakwon-Aku, D-Wrexx & Raquan-Metal. Originally the group was founded in the early 90s and consisted of 5 members : Dakwon-Aku, Raquan Metal, Zack, The General & D-Wrexx, all hailing from the apartment complex in Norwood, Bronx called Tracey Towers.

This is their only 12" which was released on All &All Entertainment. It is composed of 2 tracks, "Who Ever Thought" produced by the famous Nes Tic Morales a.k.a Tic of the Henchmen and "Funk The Radio" produced by Infinite Mind.

Dakwon-Aku : "The group officially took on the name No False Lyricists and started in 1993 in the basement of my childhood friend Zack... aka Maniac Zack... it was originally just us 2.. but you know there's always a story behind the story... Lol

"How did the connection happen with the other members of the group ?

Dakwon-Aku : "The common factor to every No False Lyricists were to 2 high rise buildings in the Boogie Down Bronx called Tracey Towers... Buildings 20 (41 Stories high) & 40 (38 stories high) West Mosholu Parkway was the home for each No False Lyricists.
Me and Zack (who came up with the name No False Lyricists though he had moved upstate NY to Rockland County by 1988/1989) were both from building 20 or Tower A. Raquan Metal or Ra-Metal moved from Mt. Vernon to the Towers (building 20 or Tower A) in the early 90s. D-Wrexx lived in building 40 or Tower B and was down with the group when me and Maniac Zack was going to the studio recording different tracks, D Wrexx would feature on jams... D Wrexx had forged a relationship with Ra-Metal and later brought him into the fold.

When me and Maniac started recording demos back in 1986/1987, he was the DJ and I was the emcee... when he moved upstate in 88/89, we were still in touch. When my older brother DJ passed away in 12/4/1989, my mom sent me down south to Richmond, VA  in 1991 to be with my Pops who had moved there a year prior.
Zack started attending Virginia State University which was 25 miles outside of Richmond so we stayed connected.
I graduated high school in 1992 and moved back to New York in 1993. Maniac was like come stay with me and let's do this music for real!!

From that,  the idea of A-Z was formed which meant Aku - Zack and everyone in between.  NFL / No False Lyricists was to be the crew that wev would bring with us once we elevated and would appear on tracks from time to time.  (There are a lot pre Funk the Radio and post Funk the Radio tracks out there with several Other No False Lyricists emcees on them. The were at v one time 6 official No False Lyricists at one time).

During this time, 93, 94, Big L had a crew in Harlem called NFL... so we stopped using NFL and began to coin phrase "No False" for short...
From like 94-98, me, D and Ra started writing and recording more together as we were still living in the Towers and started  doing different shows together.
But the connection was definitely Tracey Towers and D Brought Raquan into the fold. Raquan had knowledge of self (5%er, Nation of God's & Earths) and I had knowledge of self so naturally we clicked from the gate."

Could you give me more info about the record label All&All Ent. ? How were you signed ?

Dakwon-Aku : "Soo.. the unseen hand behind All & All is my child hood friend Swift Raheam!! Me and the God Raheam go back to like 88/89. We met at John Peter Terard Junior High School 143 in the Bronx. Me and his older brother Jason Davis were in the same class.  When he learned I was studying lessons, he told me his little brother was studying also and introduced us. Through that union, Raheam introduced me to the God's who would meet in Poe Park in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx.  There I was introduced to the Pelon/Patmos (term used for the Bronx in Mathematics) Gods like Darkim & Tasheam (who later become Allah Wise) and would form a group called T-BIG short for the The Blackkan is God and also A.I.G. Allah Is God and would have different releases with Wu-Tang Clan. There I also met Jahkym, Allah Kwon and several other Gods as we clicked up and would travel throughout NYC building with other Gods and attending Universal Parliaments (also known as Rallies where the entire Nation of God's and Earth's would meet and still meet once a month at the Harriet Tubman school in Harlem and in Fort Green Park in Medina (mathematic term for Brooklyn).
Elder God Allah Rajene would build with us frequently and we all became family.
Me, Raheam, Jahkym and Allah Kwon being the closest in age would learn from Darkim and became close.

When Raheam learned that I was recording in different studios with No False, he always being a techy actually invested in and started experimenting with different recording and beat making software like Pro Tools and Fruity Loops to name a few.. Rah also used his apartment in Fordham Towers as a recording studio where we would record different emcees but was exclusively for those affiliated with us. We came up with the name All & All as a play to All in All which we say is Allah (God) HE is the All in All of us so our music and whoever came through there we knew was considered All in All.

So Rah and I incorporated All in All Entertainment with the idea to put No False Lyricists records out and anyone else who was willing to get down after traditional attempts of getting on shopping demos to record companies,  countless meetings with A&R's, getting the run around,  wanting us to sound like other artists etc..

So Raheam and I put up the funds and made the decision to press "Who Ever Thought" (produced by Producer Extraordinaire Ticnology aka Tic) as a B-Side to "Funk the Radio" (produced by the masterful God Infintite Thought aka Infinite Mind who I met while under management with Henchmen.)

We pressed  somewhere between 500-1000 of those No False Lyricists records at Don One Recordings in Brooklyn, NY and because of Tic's connection working for BUD's Distribution (independent distributor) he was able to get our record overseas to Europe, Canada, Japan and wherever else they had accounts.

So big ups to my dude for life, Swift Raheam (Raheam Davis) for having the faith to go in with me on this business venture that the only return were these great memories he helped make for me and the crew and the ability to be here talking to you about them..."

Why is there no album dropped by the group after that ?

Dakwon-Aku : "Not really sure.. it seemed like after the record and after a few shows, the group was evolving and doing different things.
Me and Raheam were pushing the record hard and trying to get distribution deals and such as we were getting requests for more records but struggled gathering the funding to repress more records.
In 98/99, me and Raheem began recording more in All in All Studios, solo stuff and working with different producers and other artists. During that period Toast Tucker was born and became the alter ego to the God Aku. I can't remember the last track recorded with the 3 of us on it together, but there were several..
In 2001 my Son was born and in 2003 I left NY and moved to MD. I started focusing on family and music was still in me just wasn't in the forefront.
There definitely is enough material made during that time to put out a No False Lyricsts album."

Same production team for the unreleased tracks ?

Dakwon-Aku : "So No False Lyricist had I'd say 3 main producers: Nitro aka DJ Scizzorhands (who lived in the same building as Big L in Harlem), Ticnology & Infinite Mind... Other producers like No Joke, A-Boogie and several others contributed to tracks as well, but those were the main 3..."
