Pete Rock & CL Smooth - Mecca & The Soul Brother (2 CD & 2 LP BUNDLE)

"Get On Down proudly presents Mecca And The Soul Brother, the critically acclaimed 1992 full-length debut from Pete Rock & CL Smooth on both LP and CD. This album is considered one of the greatest Hip Hop albums and is now available on clear vinyl for the time ever.

Boasting tracks such as the first single, “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)”, a dedication to their deceased friend; “Trouble T-Roy”, which went on to become not only their signature hit, but also one of Hip Hop’s all-time great songs. Other classics such as "Straighten It Out", ""Skinz" (Featuring Grand Puba), "For Pete's Sake", "Soul Brother #1" and the posse cut "The Basement" (Featuring Heavy D, Rob O, Deda & Grap Lover) all showcase the albums amazing versatility. The album is propelled forward by Rock’s quick, soulful interludes; usually bits of old R&B tunes layered with his signature trumpet and sax loops.

The Vinyl comes on clear Vinyl, while the CD comes as a 2 CD boxset. The first CD features the original 16 album tracks, remastered from the original masters recordings. The second disc contains 15 remixes, bonus versions and exclusives. Tracks such as "It's Not A Game", "Lots Of Lovin'"(Remix), "Straighten It Out" (Remix), "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y)" (Remix), "The Basement" (Instrumental), "Ghettos Of The Mind" (Acapella) plus many more! Both discs come housed in individual ‘paste on’ style sleeves with brightly-colored printed dust sleeves along with indepth liner notes with Pete Rock and CL Smooth. All this plus a full sized poster to boot. This reissue of an early 90s classic is a must have for any music collector or fan of good music"

Rob O & Pete Rock - So Many Rappers - 2016

7" - 2016 - Redefinition Records

Produced by Pete Rock
Available February 12th 2016

"Its been 2 decades since INI debuted under the guidance of producer Pete Rock. During the mid to late 90’s INI member Rob O and several other Mount Vernon, NY affiliates recorded a string of PR produced tracks that were released in various incarnations (including many promo only, white label & bootleg 12”s) until the early 2000’s when underground hip hop vinyl sales were starting to decline. Today, with the resurgence of vinyl and it’s high demand, Redefinition Records and ST. Nick Ent. have collaborated to reissue for the first time officially Rob O’s “So many Rappers” (produced & recorded during PR’s Soul Survivor era), and Meccalicious’ Meccalicious (recorded during the Center of Attention era). Both Rob O and Meccalicious would gain a lifelong fanbase from their performances on wax. If you’re fan a of Pete Rock and the whole MT. Vernon movement, these 2 selections are essential. Previous versions of these recordings have been long out of print and sought after, so whether you’re a long time fan or if this is your first time hearing these gems, this 45 is a must have"
