12" - 1997 - Blacklist Music
Motion is a Toronto-based female emcee who released her debut single "Use What U Got" on Blacklist Music in 1997. Like the rest of the Blacklist Music catalog, this 12" is definitely something to own in his record collection. The wax is cheap and isn't really hard to find. It consists of the lead single "Use What U Got (Get What You Want)" (Radio, Instrumental, Remix and Remix Instrumental) and the track "Cycle Of Life" (Radio & Instrumental). All the productions are handled by UBAD's members DJ Power and Tyson.
If you need more info about her, you need to know that Motion is an hip-hop activist since day one. Her name was chosen at the time as a reflection of her movement into the burgeoning worlds of spoken word and poetry. She is also a co-founder of CIUT 89.5 FM’s The Masterplan Show (alongside DJ Power, DJ DTS and Jonbronski) and was a member of the Hip Hop crew called Nu Black Nation (Motion, Full Step, Go Go, Sister T.Soul and Power) who appeared on the Cold Front Rap Compilation, which was released in 1991 on Attic Records.
