" This was a compilation made in 1996. It Showcases Hip Hop artists from The Central New York region which includes Syracuse NY and the surrounding areas. All the artists on the compilation lived and worked in the area at the time of the recording.
The Notable names that are still doing music professionally are:
Kirk T – This compilation showcased Kirk T as a rapper. Kirk T is the producer and Owner of BanginBeats.com which is a company still in operation that is behind the sound design of many producers around the world. He stil serves mostly the Underground Hip Hop Community.
Swell – Swell aka T Perry is still a producer. He also ran a sound design company called One Stop Beats and He now is heading a new Producer Publication called StudioBums. He is well connected in the whole NY Hip Hop and Urban Music Community.
Soul Son – aka Sharif Bey is the rapper featured on Red Eye and Hold Tight. He is a Kung Fu master and now focuses on his School and Acting career in Syracuse N.Y. I have heard him on some projects over the years so he is still active in the Hip Hop community.
Dj Tes – Tes is also known as Salvatore Chisari. He is still working as a Dj, Recording engineer and Studio Owner. Sal runs redbrick recordings and his new album “Fields of Freedom” will be dropping on March third 2016 (3-3-16)
This new album from Dj Tes (fileds of Freedom) will have Duane E’s son “Koree Reed” featured on the record. Duane E still makes music with Dj Tes often. He just chooses not to release it and make it for the love of hip hop.
Unfortunately One of the Greatest artists on this Pre Millenium compilation passed away somewhere around 2008. His name was Josh and his Emcee name was E-D-I Tor of the Cyanide Poets. I believe The Cyanide Poets still make music. You may be able to find them on facebook as Travis Manley and Capreese Manley, two brothers that can still hold it down on the Mic.
Another awesome artist that passed away on this record was Sand Man. He is the rapper featured on track 9 “Hold Tight”. He was the only artist featured on this compilation that did not live in Syracuse, he was from NYC. More info on him can be obtained from Swell (Studio Bums)
Big Ric we havn't heard from in many years. I don’t even know what his real name was. I hope he is doing well.
I am very happy I released this music and will never stop making dope beats and songs for the love of hiphop!! Thanks for your interest "
Dj Tes a.k.a Salvatore Chisari
