Wish Master X Illinformed - COLD HARBOUR TALES - 2021
"Wish Master has granted us something magical, going in with heavyweight producer Illinformed for the long-awaited new album Coldharbour Tales LP. On the sixteen-track project, Wish Master consistently delivers conscious street lyricism, flowing confidently over the high level and dark boom bap production with his signature heavyweight delivery. The project drips with atmosphere, as Wish and his army of guests move comfortably between menacing and laid back, over Illinformed’s minor-key boom bap grooves on lemon-fresh tracks with their roots laid deep in the old school. Stacked with features from Babylon Dead (of which Illinformed makes up one half alongside J-Man), Gee Bag, Datkid, Verb T, BVA, Leaf Dog, Axel Holy (aka Baileys Brown), Smellington Piff and more! These are familiar names for Illinformed, who has worked extensively with the whos-who of underground UK hip-hop, building his reputation as the scene’s go to beat smith." - courtesy of O.R Records
The album will be available on double vinyl LP (150 copies), CD (100 copies) & Cassette (100 copies), on September 10th 2021.
Usephasan - Chemistry Teraqueous - 1998
The 06-song EP entitled "Chemistry Teraqueous (Capric.ci.o)" was released by the California-based emcee Usephasan (alias Chamelion) on REQUIRED/NewHarvest in 1998. The project was produced by Pomo of Blend Crafters, Scientifical RU (aka Usephasan, better known under the names of Autolect or Bil Basmala nowadays), and Greg F.
"Prior to pressing the vinyl Pomo & Hasan shopped the demo. A deal with Correct Records in Beverly Hills, Ca. was on the table but rejected due to the structure of the deal. Afterwards Hasan decided to independently press the vinyl via Bill Smith in El Segundo California. He met up with Beni B of the Bay Area Hip-Hop Coalition (BAHHC) and started reaching spins, orders shortly thereafter. From LA to the Bay this release represents a clear divergents from commercial rap to Independent Hip-Hop merging from Northern California to Worldwide acceptance."
If you're looking for his album "Scienc.Esquizit" from 1998, the Collectors Edition CD (remastered) is available via his Bandcamp.

Papa Chuk - "The Texas Roughneck" Original Demo Sessions CD - 1992
"Before Papa Chuk's 1994 Pendulum Records debut, there was a previous album, a superior album, unheard until now. Produced and recorded in his hometown of Austin in 1992, The Texas Roughneck: Original Demo Sessions presents a rawer, harder hitting side of Chuk, with tighter and more dynamic production by his original partner, DJ Cassanova. Working directly with Cass, Dust & Dope Recordings have remastered his original DAT recordings to restore the complete, unreleased album on CD with five exclusive, bonus instrumental tracks and liner notes by Werner von Wallenrod in interview with DJ Cassanova himself." - courtesy of Dust & Dope Recording
300 copies only (with 4-page booklet with liner notes by Werner Von Wallenrod.)

Documentary : Where We're From - Rise Of L.A. Underground Hip Hop
"WHERE WE'RE FROM captures the rise of underground Hip Hop in Los Angeles during the 90s and 2000s told through Elements, a group of four friends that promoted a weekly club that honored the "elements of Hip Hop" - MCing, DJing, dance, and graffiti art. Part of a generation that found community and refuge through Hip Hop, Elements' audiences returned week after week because they knew they would witness craft and skill, something that at the time was getting lost with the injection of cash and promotion of negative stereotypes into Hip Hop culture by major record labels and commercial media outlets."
This 90-minute documentary is Directed by Al Bonds a.k.a DJ Bonds and Fabrizio Prado a.k.a DJ Breeze, executive produced by Damon Bonds. It contains interviews from Planet Asia, Talib Kweli, J-Ro of Tha Alkaholiks, DJ Maseo of De La Soul, Aceyalone, Abstract Rude, Myka 9, Ellay Khule, Medusa, DJ Rhettmatic, Mr. Choc, Cut Chemist, Chali 2na, Akil, DJ Nu-Mark, Evidence, Rakaa Iriscience, Immortal Technique, DJ Mark Luv, Divine Styler of Scheme Team, The Soul Bros, Jeru the Damaja, DJ Icy Ice, Asia One, Fidel Rodriguez, DJ MonaLisa, DJ Daz, Carmelita Sanchez, DJ D-Styles, Large Professor, Otherwize, Dotted Line, Seefor, Soren Baker, Orlando from Unity, Darlene Ortiz, BBoy Lil Cesar, Miles Tackett, DJ Rasta Root, AG from DITC, Dave New York, Polo Molina and more...

Mastermind Street Jam - Homegrown Show Pt 1 & 2 (June '96)
Mastermind Street Jam was a Canadian Hip-Hop radio show aired on Energy 108 (107.9FM), that served the Hamilton, Burlington, and Toronto areas in the mid to late 1990s.
A few interesting demos were played in these 2 episodes from June 1996 dedicated to the Canadian local scene. My favorite demos are "Rap Assassinator" performed by Explicit and "Let Me Go" performed by 20 Sides. It's great to hear another track from the group 20 Sides, which also had another demo entitled "20 Questions" played by Bobbito in December 1995 on the Stretch & Bobbito Show. Mad Props to Chase March for the uploads.
