Here is a little slice of Boston Hip-Hop History... let's talk about the group called Mikst Nutz. In '93/'94 they dropped a very good demo tape which deserves to see a proper release on vinyl nowadays.
Mikst Nutz started in 1990 and was originally composed of Johnny Hatch a.k.a J The Mack Hatch (RIP) from Roxbury, Big Oh from Roxbury and Kon who was the DJ and Producer. Ripshop from Dorchester joined them in 1994, he met them through Rich 5... a producer from Mattapan.

According to Christian 'Kon' Taylor in a Soundcloud comment :
Kon : "Mikst Nutz, a crew formed out of friendship in the late 80's. After I was arrested at age 15, I got my act together and I met Johnny Hatch in a program for troubled youth. We both were doing graffiti and then realized we both were into music, heavy. He rapped and I Djed and at the time started doing beats. Johnny introduced me to Osamah aka Big Oh! and I had my sidekick known as Buda... And about the same time a rapper by the name of Ripshop entered the fold. All the while we did our recording at Throwdown studios with Chuck Nice and Mark Kaye. Boston underground rap history right there."

An EP was recorded by the group but it's still unreleased nowadays...
Ripshop :" There was offers in the beginning, but follow ups never happened... Johnny Hatch moved to NY for a while... Big Oh! slowed down due to family...kids. I was the only one that continued. Then Oh! started producing..."
Unfortunately Johnny Hatch was killed and his father injured in a double shooting which happened on Friday Feb 18th 2011 in Medford. He was 36... Rest In Peace
