12" - 1996 - Niya Records Inc.
Let's talk about this 12" released by a group named True Form in 1996. True Form was a hip-hop group from NYC who consisted of Prefix- (TAP) The Amped Product, Stephon X a.k.a Crookit Letter and Loui KaKa.
Both tracks of the wax "King Of Yes Yall" and "Tru-Form" were produced by 'Major Jam Productions', a production team formed by C. Roc and Loui KaKa which are both Prefix's biological brothers. Prefix, C Roc and Loui KaKa were from Harlem, Manhattanville projects and Stephon X was from Bronx River.
The wax came out on Niya Records Inc, a record label managed by Ralph Giddens. Ralph went to school with Loui KaKa and according to Prefix "They ran into each other catching up and my brother let him hear some heat we were working on. Ralph loved it and wanted to hear more. And it went on from there ! " . You can read on the label that the wax is dedicated to Debra Berry and Robert "Assasin" Jones who were great friends of the group members.
There is no other official release after that 12" but they actually recorded an EP which didn't come out until recent years on a Sony Red label.
Thanks! Ive had this record for years but couldnt find much on them, even on Discogs. Its a nice boom bap joint. Do you have any info on the Sony release?
