Unbiased Ghetto Opinion - The Rare 90s Joints EP - 2025

Indie heads might know U.G.O [Unbiased Ghetto Opinion] from Stevano U.G.O.'s 1999 split 12" on Echo International, but Golden Era headz have been searching for these rare AF gems forever.  U.G.O. and his family came to the States in the early 90's from Nigeria bringing with them a distinct sound almost entirely influenced by U.S. East Coast Hip Hop. They settled in Washington, D.C. and self-released all their records, simultaneously learning the record game.

Some exceptionally rare OG's on this one yo! There are 2 tracks off the impossible to find 1992  vinyl EP as well as one KILLER from the cassette version that is making its first appearance on wax. Also included is the as-hard2find "Feel This" jawn [only 7 people on DIscogs CLAIM they have it in their collection]. As well as these heaters, we have included 2 joints from 1994 including "Straight from the Heart" which features Knowledge aka Doodlebug from Digable Planets.

I know some cats will be saying where is this track and where is that track - some of the masters were corrupted over the years so their inclusion was impossible - BUT there might be some better versions somewhere, and the hunt continues.... " - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records

Unbiased Ghetto Opinion

Tape - 1992 - Eagle Entertainment Co

U.G.O (Unbiased Ghetto Opinion) was originally composed of Ugo, Sean Axis, Zane & Rhalo.
"Ugo is most recognized as the lead rapper of U.G.O. They earned their distinction while schooling at Howard University. U.G.O has performed in every major night club and arena throughout the metropolitan area. They’ve also shared the stage with almost every hip-hop act that has visited DC in the past years. Selling over 25 000 copies locally of their independent release, Back 2 Basix, confirms their underground popularity in the DC area. Their last single, Blowin’ Spots, is being projected as a national product. Like U.G.O’s 1991 local hit, Boogie Bound, Feel this incorporates the unique melodies that typify their distinctive style. East Coast Lyrics, supported by the sort of explosive beat and baseline characteristic of West Coast hits guarantees this single will be Blowin’ Spots worldwide !"
