"10 years ago, I released an album with a friend and emcee named Vis Major. We went by the moniker The Heart & Brain. I was the heart (on beats) and Vis Major was the brain (on lyrics). It was the result of inspiration from Gang Starr, Pete & CL, Madlib & MF DOOM, and such. We did it over a period of time when our lives were shifting and the landscape of hip hop music was changing. The album took 4 years to complete because of life obstacles, home relocations, college attempts, hookups, breakups, international treks, and life-changing experiences. The album almost didn't happen. I am happy to say it made it to the world independently with the help of now currently disjunct label Domination Recordings. That's why its a long listen. MBodiment has prominent features from sub-terrain hip hop heavyweights of the times like Wordsworth, Akrobatik, Supastition, Butta Verses, and more. Many praised it as a classic or a majorly slept on gem. HiphopDX gave it a 4 out of 5 review. Because of how wide the accessibility to music has reached over the years, this 10-year re-release may actually be an introduction instead of a re-introduction.
