Demo : Special Ed - We Rule (Unreleased Demo Version)

 

This kind of demo, recently posted on YouTube, proves that Special Ed recorded some really interesting demo versions in the early '90s that still remain unreleased. I don't know if it was produced by Akshun, but to be honest, I prefer this version to the one that was released on the album in 1995. Big thanks to K. for the upload. Peace

Da Wolfpack - Definition - 1995

12" - 1995 - Emotional Records Ltd 

This 12" was released in 1995 by the hip-hop duo from Brooklyn named Da Wolfpack, consisted of Omar Epps and G-Sharp.

Both tracks of the wax "Definition" and "Attack of Da Wolfpack" were fully produced by Akshun, Special Ed's DJ. 

It was released on Emotional Records Ltd, a record label based in NYC. "Definition" was the lead single of the record and for the instrumental Akshun used a sample of the excellent "Maracas Beach" performed by Grover Washington Jr and released in 1978. 

In 1996, a full album produced by Domingo Padilla was recorded by the group at Powerplay Studio in Queens NY,  but it is still unreleased nowadays... I hope it will see the light of day soon !
