Mix : The Pharcyde - LabCabinCalifornia 25th Anniversary - 2020

"This mixtape is mixed by NYC’s DJ Spinna and features “Nasty Habits”, an unreleased joint from the vault that features Ralph Tresvant & Bobby Brown. Imani & Bootie Brown also asked a group of producers to remix and add their own personal spin on a few of the Labcabincalifornia songs that you all know and love.

Dj Mike Relm re-works a mash up of “Drop”, SBBX remixes “Groupie Therapy”, Moka Only drops his version of “Y” and The Pharcyde’s own Bootie Brown remixes “Runnin’.”

DJ SPINNA is a heavily touted presence in the international soulful house music scene. He is known for his vast accomplishments as a producer, is celebrated for his “Soul Slam” events and Stevie Wonder inspired WONDER-Full Dj performances and subsequent collaborations.

The Pharcyde’s sophomore album “LabcabinCalifornia” was originally released on November 14th, 1995. The group enlisted a young and then unknown James Yancey aka J DILLA to produce beats, like the cult classic “Runnin.” They also collaborated with director Spike Jonze (“Being John Malkovich” “Adaptation”) on the video for “Drop.” Labcabincalifornia has consistently and continues to reinforce their steadfast refusal to tread familiar artistic grounds."

DJ Filthy Rich Presents Cypress Hill - Temples Of Boom 25th Anniversary Tribute

"Tribute mixtape celebrating 25 Years of Cypress Hill's 'Temples Of Boom'. It's a very gritty & hardcore album, possibly in response to the criticism they unfairly received after the commercial success of 'Black Sunday'. B-Real admits they were going through a troubled period in their lives, and it shows on this LP. The lyrics and beats are dark, sombre & haunting, and there's no 'radio' track to be found......some of Muggs' best (and underrated) work." - courtesy of DJ Filthy Rich

DJ Filthy Rich Presents Smif N Wessun - Dah Shinin 25

"Celebrating 25 years of Smif N Wessun's LP 'Dah Shinin'. Black Moon & Da Beatminerz laid the blueprint for the early 90's gritty BK sound, and Tek & Steele ran with it crafting this undeniable CLASSIC. Mr Rippa & Vicksta's patois-infused rhymes over hard drums & dark samples made this the soundtrack for winter of 95 & beyond. Not one skippable track. I always loved the way they effortlessly flowed back & forth, finishing each other's sentences. No one has ever done it better than the PNC's from Bucktown. Ya betta wreckonize!!" - Dj Filthy Rich

Mixtape : Pete Rock & CL Smooth 'The Main Ingredient' 25th Anniversary Mixtape

"This month marks the 25th anniversary of Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth's second (and final) full-length LP, 'The Main Ingredient.' Following in the footsteps of 1992's 'Mecca and the Soul Brother,' the album comprises tracks built from densely layered samples, frequently previously unsampled jazz fusion cuts mixed with crisp drums and short vocal snippets plundered from well-known '80s/'90s hip-hop tracks. Use of a number of go-to tracks defines the sound of the album and the presence of vocal samples from Biz Markie and Big Daddy Kane in particular is a key ingredient in the album's sonic palette. In celebration of the album's 25th year, we've partnered once again with WhoSampled to present this mixtape of album tracks, alt versions, interview snippets, and of course original sample material, mixed by Chris Read." - Wax Poetics

Gravediggaz X Organized Konfusion - 6 Feet Deep: The Extinction Agenda

Dj Filthy Rich :"25 Years ago, the Gravediggaz ushered in the hip hop sub-genre known as 'Horrorcore' (coined by jounalist Havelock Nelson) with their groundbreaking debut album '6 Feet Deep'. Concurrently, Organized Konfusion dropped a certified classic with their sophomore LP 'Stress: The Extinction Agenda', featuring complex rhymes over A-level production. To mark the 25th anniversaries of both of these landmark albums, I blended them together. Hear these classics combined in a totally new way....

Mix : DJ Filthy Rich Presents Hard To Earn 25th Anniversary Tribute

"DJ Premier & Guru (R.I.P.), the duo more popularly known as Gang Starr, released their 4th album 'Hard To Earn' on March 8, 1994. Tired of being labeled as 'jazz-rap', Preemo decided to move away from sampling jazz records, and instead opted for a stripped down style of production. The result was a raw, harder hitting sound, and arguably their best album ever. 'Hard To Earn' is near & dear to me, so I had to get back in the lab and record this 25-year tribute to this legendary album. I've gathered their hits, album cuts & b-sides, and combined them with some original samples, interview soundbites, and my own custom blends."
