Infectious Organisms - No Sense / A Spontaneous Combustion - 1996

12" - 1996 - Oddity Records

Here is the debut 12" released in 1996 on Oddity Records by Infectious Organisms, a group originally founded by 3 MCs (Jean-Baptiste, Michelle & Maximus) from Richmond,Virginia, specialized in Conscious Hip-Hop with live instrumentals. According to an article written by the magazine 64, "it was when the word crew connected with musicians from the popular DC Go-Go outfit, Good'N'Plenty, that Infectious Organisms' marriage of instrumental fire and cinematic vocab was born".

Only 2 tracks were pressed on this wax, "No sense" on the A-side and "A Spontaneous Combustion: The True Definition Of Freestyle (In One Take)" on the B-side, both tracks produced by Daniel Zacharias a.k.a Mister Wise of Lower Life Forms.

The 12" still remains very rare... it's difficult to catch one copy online honestly... so keep your eyes open !

On November 13th 1997, one of their Demo titled "Tears" was played by Stretch & Bobbito on WKCR. It features the female emcee Michelle only... here it is !
