"Following on from the Karbine album last month, we have the brand new album from Bronx representer, Hahyeem. This heater includes production from Tru Comers, Lee Drumming Beats, Karbine, Q-Knight & more. Hahyeem really coming of age on this heartfelt and honest depiction of his family and personal life. Beats are beautiful and drums knock HARRRD." - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records
" And we're back with one of the so-called Albums of the Year. That's not just me saying that, in fact heads have been reaching out for months requesting Herring drops the debut album from Karbine on the label. Featuring guests like Rome Streetz, Ace SL, Hahyeem, Plaza, Mellow NYC, Rigz, Al Doe, Maverick Montana & Fastlife!!!!
Pure NYC flava on the mic and my god, the DRUMS - one of the dopest producers out there right now and certainly one of the youngest on the scene. Proud to have Karbine back with us again for another drop, with more comin soon.... " - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records
"A real obscure one right here, outta of South Carolina. Originally released on CD & cassette only by independent label Phanatic Records in very small numbers. This is one of those much-coveted joints by the tape & CD collectors. Producer Kenny Pickett drops the illest indy flavas on this amazing, slept on/unknown EP. Included are all the tracks from the tape as well as the CD bonus joint. Sound is top notch off the OG studios recordings. " - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records
Available in Black vinyl (225 copies) & Aquamarine vinyl (125 copies)
Brooklyn-based emcee Ace SL and NYC-based beatmaker Karbine are back with a brand new album, now available on vinyl via Chopped Herring Records. Monster drums, bass that hit like a subway train and that grimy, signature New York grit are all on the menu.
Available on Black Vinyl (225 copies) & Magenta Vinyl (125 copies)
" Dropped this on limited CD last year but took a minute to get round to the vinyl version, but here it is. Crazy Finesse-esque production from NY producer Karbine with some of the dopest rhymes to date from BX MC Hahyeem. " - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records
Available on Purple Vinyl (125 copies) & Black vinyl (225 copies)
It's time to see Sho Nuff's unreleased material comin out... Here is an 8-track EP entitled "Long Time Comin' 1994-1997" available now on vinyl with the help of the dope record label Chopped Herring Records.
" What we have here is a SLAMMIN' piece of mid 90s rareness outta Virginia Beach by way of Soundview in the BX. Cats MIGHT know the track 'Nuthin N Duh World' from the extremely hard to find 1998 "Can I Hit It The Soundtrack" LP. Also, the track '4Rum Duh Souf' appeared on a boot called 'Check The Flava Vol 1'. Both tracks were recorded a few years before either of those records dropped. And apparently, there was also a very low run 12" including both joints that was released in 1996, but no one, it seems, has found a copy yet. ANYONE? " - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records
Chopped Herring Records are back with the much-anticipated 19th release in the CHQU33NS Series. "Height of the Night" is a 14-Track LP with productions from Tru Comers, Karbine, OJz, Chillon Davis, Merz, Mandare, Brown 13 ... just to name a few. The guests are Eddie Kaine, Tweezy and Bub Styles.
Available on Tradition Black vinyl (225 copies) & Clear vinyl (125 copies)
" Indie heads might know U.G.O [Unbiased Ghetto Opinion] from Stevano U.G.O.'s 1999 split 12" on Echo International, but Golden Era headz have been searching for these rare AF gems forever. U.G.O. and his family came to the States in the early 90's from Nigeria bringing with them a distinct sound almost entirely influenced by U.S. East Coast Hip Hop. They settled in Washington, D.C. and self-released all their records, simultaneously learning the record game.
Some exceptionally rare OG's on this one yo! There are 2 tracks off the impossible to find 1992 vinyl EP as well as one KILLER from the cassette version that is making its first appearance on wax. Also included is the as-hard2find "Feel This" jawn [only 7 people on DIscogs CLAIM they have it in their collection]. As well as these heaters, we have included 2 joints from 1994 including "Straight from the Heart" which features Knowledge aka Doodlebug from Digable Planets.
I know some cats will be saying where is this track and where is that track - some of the masters were corrupted over the years so their inclusion was impossible - BUT there might be some better versions somewhere, and the hunt continues.... " - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records
Chopped Herring Records are back with the second volume of the Mental Dimension Unreleased 90's Demos, which consists of 7 unreleased and unheard joints from 1994-1995.
"EBS (Elite Bomb Squad) made their mark in the early '90s as a rap group with a distinct sound and style. Featuring Cryptic One, Jest One, Tell, and Saf as MCs, and Screw as the DJ, the group was known for their experimental, dark beats crafted by Cryptic One, paired with the unique lyrical styles of each MC. The group, active from 1992 to 1994, pursued a record deal, culminating in a meeting with Dr. Dre of Yo! MTV Raps. Though the group disbanded after that meeting, the demo they had presented to Dre later leaked on YouTube, gaining renewed attention and leading to its eventual release on vinyl by Chopped Herring Records in 2024.
The origins of EBS trace back to Westbury, Long Island, where it began as a graffiti crew. Founded by Stop One and Desone, who met in 6th grade over a shared love of graffiti and weekend hip hop radio shows on KISS and WBLS, the crew spread its name throughout local schools and public spaces. Inspired by the legendary KGB crew, Stop One coined the name "Elite Bomb Squad" while watching a World War II documentary. Dex/Deks and Shane joined the crew early on, helping to shape its identity.
As EBS’s reputation in graffiti grew, younger members like Safari (Saf Two) and Jest One joined, and the crew eventually transitioned into music. With a lineup of four distinct MCs and a DJ, they brought their creative vision to the rap world. Though Cryptic One and Jest One went on to make music with Atoms Family after the group's split , other members pursued careers outside of music.
Despite their brief time as a rap group, the legacy of EBS lives on through their music and the close bond they’ve maintained over the years. Stop One expressed pride in seeing how the group carried the name forward, transforming EBS into something bigger than just a graffiti crew.
This is EBS…....Don’t Test." - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records
Chopped Herring Records are back with I could say the 3rd episode of the Thunder Jam Alliance series. This time it's a 10 track solo EP from Cal-S.K.I. the Street Kid Intellect. All the demos were recorded between 1996 and 1998.

" Wow - years before the first Pseudo's release, we have this spectacular album [or is it an EP?] by the boys from Buffalo, NY. Recorded 2001-2003 this is 100%, pure Pseudo-sound from the early days. Sunday vibes, piano loops, smart-ass/tuned-in lyrics - this one has everything for the headz . Never been released or leaked before, this was set to be on Buffalo label Deepthinka Recs, but it never happened. So Herring is here, over 20 years later, to sponge up that Pseudo-juice and wring the sweet nectar into a black piece of limited vinyl, adorned in the typical Herring 'unreleased-style' sticker cover. If you are a Pseudohead this one will seamlessly join the dots from 2001 until now. Perfection on wax. Enjoy!!! " - courtesy of Chopped Herring Records
