The Bedouin - The Missing Link - 2024

4 years after the first upload of the Bedouins original tape on Til.Infinity Blog by my man Etienne, an official vinyl treatment is now available with the help of Back2DaSource Records. 

The Bedouin (formerly Bedouins) is a group from San Jose, California comprised of Beatmaker Tape Mastah Steph and two Emcees : The Gill Brothers, Mozam & K Swift.

"With their early / mid 90s project called "The Missing Link" which is a long EP (or can be considered as an album, officially called Mini Album because it has more than 6 tracks  - 7 to be exact - but it's a bit under 30 mins length), they bring us some True Words of Wisdom.

This is an incredible Spiritual release that we had to put out before the end of times, it's the final call. This project is 100% prophetic !  I'll ask you to pay attention to the lyrics please.

The Missing Link EP/ mini album was only pressed on tape format in 1998 (self released) a few years after the tracks had been recorded, the title "Missing Link" says it all.

I'm sure most of you, my Brothers & Sisters, had never heard about this album before, yet this cassette is highly sought by the Hip Hop tape collectors on discogs, however it has never been sold. Very hard to find tape, it's a real hidden Gem, Holy Grail !

I hope you are ready because this release is far from the average Christian rap you could find out there (just listen to the first track and you will understand why) It goes very deep, and needless to say that those Souls are Godsends.

It 's time to listen to some good 90s hip-hop from the South Bay Area fellas !!! 

"Shameless Self Promotion" is the first and only album originally released as a demo tape in 1995 by the San Jose-based group Lackadaisical. Those demos definitely deserved a proper release on vinyl, now it's done with the help of Etienne and his Record Label Vulgar.

If you don't know Lackadaisical you need to know that the group consisted of Demone Carter a.k.a Dem One, Sultan Banks a.k.a Sultan (pronounced Soo-Tahn) later known as Traxamillion (RIP) who unfortunately passed away earlier this year, and Jesse Jones (RIP), rapper and graffiti artist who was shot in the back and killed by the Police in Banning, Ca in June 2006... In the early 90s, Lackadaisical, The Dereliks and Aeropause formed the crew called Phameph a.k.a Family Effort.

"Shameless Self Promotion" is a 9-Track EP produced by Dem One, Sultan Banks and Hen Boogie of The Dereliks. In 2012, Dem One wrote on his Lifeafterhiphop Blog that "These songs are literally the first things we ever recorded in a real recording studio. This is straight ahead backpack boom bap 90’s hip-hop. Our energy was raw but thanks to our rap mentors The Dereliks, this project came out sounding really polished considering it was made by teenagers."

It includes a 4-pages booklet with various photographs commented by Dem One and liner notes by David Ma. Front drawing by Z-Man. Layout & label drawings by Rimrimrim.

Demo Tape : Phanatik Conception

Etienne via his dope Til.Infinity Blog has recently posted a very interesting Demo Tape (12 tracks) recorded by the Bay Area producer Fanatik, around 1996. 

The B-Side contains unreleased tracks (studio sessions) featuring Grand The Visitor a.k.a 50 Grand of Homeliss Derilex... The tape also features Encore, Dave Dub & Persevere of Sub Contents.  Enjoy fellas ... and big thanks to Etienne for sharing this !
